A tragedy is rare, but welcome story arch at times. This no-way-out story is kind of Nietzsche like - "when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes back". The protagonist is wrought with despair and even proclaims alliance with the devil to further vilify his actions.
The journey was dark, but it kept my interest. Even in a short, the character development is good. And the suicide by cop ending fits with the theme. Nice work.
